Riding some vehicles increase player speed. Aquatic and air vehicles additionally improve the player's ability to navigate challenging terrain.
Some vehicles require licences to be unlocked. Level 1 is pilot water vehicles, level 2 is driving land vehicles and level 3 is to pilot flying vehicles.
All vehicles need to be placed on the land/water to be used. This creates a map icon in the colour that the vehicle has been painted. To return a placed vehicle to the inventory, attack it with any weapon. When its hit points run out, it will turn into a green box that can be picked up. This can be done as often as needed, it does not actually harm the vehicle.
The gliders and boogie board are used from the player's inventory. They are an item, not a vehicle, therefore no map icon when dropped. These are included on this page as they assist with travel.
In addition to these vehicles, the Wheelbarrow can be used for the "I drive" milestone for travelling distance. This milestone does not include the use of gliders or boogie boards.
Placing the Mu Saddle on to a Mu or Wary Mu creates this vehicle that can be ridden. Cannot be broken down to be put into inventory. Though using a Mu Whistle will teleport the closest saddled Mu/Wary Mu to the player on the island. Can be attacked and killed by aggressive animals, where the saddled will be dropped. Feed Quandongs to recover health.
