Getting Started Player Adventurer's Journal

The Player is the character that is directly controlled by the player to perform various in-game actions. The characters that are not controlled by a player are called NPCs, non-player characters.

Character Customisation[]

The following options are available at the beginning of a new game:

  • Appearance - This includes about 7 skin tones, 21 hairstyles, 6 hair colours, 18 eye designs, 6 eye colours, 8 noses and 8 mouths.
    • There are 6 shirt options to begin with, with other clothing options in the game including hats, glasses, pants, dresses and shoes.
    • There is also an option to randomise your character's appearance.
    • If you are unhappy about your choices you do not need to start a new game to change your appearance, the progression of the game's storyline will enable you to unlock an NPC who can assist you with these changes later in the game, as well as additional options.
  • Name / Island Name - Only uppercase, lowercase letters, and spaces can be used. There is no option to use numbers or symbols in your name. Name and Island Name are sometimes used in dialogues during gameplay.
Note: currently, this cannot be changed after confirmation.
    • There is a maximum of 16 characters.
    • Both fields accept copied text (paste text using Ctrl + V).
    • If nothing is written as the name of the island, it will default to Dinkum.
  • Gender - There is no option to select the gender of the playable character.
    • NPCs will only address the Player by their name.
