Dinkum Wiki

In Dinkum, the Player passes out whenever they lose all health. The player loses health under certain conditions such as: being attacked by an animal, set on fire by walking over a campfire, or when struck by lightning.

The player can often avoid easily passing out by eating foods that boost health levels and regeneration, but if the player does pass out, the effects vary a bit depending on how they revive.

Single Player[]

When the player passes out, they'll see a Revive button pop up on the screen. When they press Revive, they will lose roughly 1/3 of the maximum durability of all tools in their inventory and 20% of the Dinks they have on-hand. Any tools that lose their full durability won't break, but will be left with 1-2 uses.

Island[]

  • The day saves and automatically progresses to the next day as if the player had slept. The player starts the day with the default stamina and health levels for the start of a new day.

Deep Mine[]

  • The player respawns back to the elevator depleted of both health and stamina.

Island Reef[]

  • The player respawns back to the airship depleted of both health and stamina.

Multiplayer[]

In multiplayer, the player can revive themselves like in a single player game, or get someone else in the game to revive them.

Revive Self[]

  • When the player passes out, it's similar to what they experience in single player. They'll see a Revive button pop up on the screen. When the player presses Revive, they will lose roughly 1/3 of the maximum durability of all tools in their inventory and 20% of the dinks they have on-hand. Any tools that lose their full durability won't break, but will be left with 1-2 uses.
  • The player then respawns depending on the location they passed out in, depleted of health and stamina. On the island, the player will respawn at their last sleeping location; in the deep mine, the player will respawn in the elevator; and on the Island Reef, the player will respawn in the airship. The day does not automatically save or progress so the player can eat some food and continue playing the multiplayer game.

Revive Mate[]

  • There's a huge benefit to working together when playing in multiplayer because players can be revived where they passed out and not lose any money or tool durability.
  • If one player passes out, another can walk up to them and "right-click" (mouse) or press the "A" button (controller). In the game, it looks like the reviving player is patting the passed-out player on the back.
  • The player who passed out pops back up in the same spot where they were revived. The player doesn't lose any tool durability or dinks, but are depleted of both health and stamina.
