Paint

The Paint and Paint Remover are single-use items for customising the appearance of most Vehicles, Wooden Crates and Wooden Chests.

To use paint, select it in the toolbelt inventory, stand next to a vehicle or crate/chest, and click to apply.

To change the colour of a painted item use a different colour paint, or
To remove and restore to original appearance use the paint remover. Clear off paint.

Coloured paint and paint remover can randomly be found in chests in the Deep Mine and Island Reef. The special Chrome and Gold paints are only sold on Jimmy's Boat with Permit Points.

Paint vehicles to achieve the Painter milestone and earn permit points.

Sky Fest Kites[]

During the Sky Fest event, Fletch will give the player a Kite Kit to make one kite on the Kite Making Table located at the front of the Band Stand. There are three kite types available in all paint colours except for silver and gold. A white kite does not require paint.

In a livestream Q&A on September 20th, 2022, Dinkum developer James Bendon indicated that with the upcoming Housewarming Update, paints will also be usable on storage containers, Wooden Crates and Wooden Chests.*
