''If you are looking for some new furniture for your house then you definitely need to build Melvin’s shop. Melvin, a good-looking fella will help you turn your old shack into a fashionable residence.
Melvin Furniture is a furniture store owned and run by Melvin.
Melvin will visit the Visitors Site after upgrading the Tent to a House. Visit Fletch to ask for the upgrade. Increase relationship hearts with Melvin by completing daily jobs and spending > 800 (shop only). Once Melvin's relationship is > 1 heart, he will ask Fletch to move in. Speak to Fletch for the dialogue for Melvin to ask to move in. Hint: Melvin's favourite food is Cooked Meat.
Before Melvin moves into the player's town, a temporary, tent-based version of the shop will occasionally appear on the Visitors Site. When the furniture store appears in this temporary form, Melvin sells two items per day. One will be a piece of furniture such as a table or sofa. The other will be a decorative item such as a fruit bowl or a lamp. There may be items the player can already access through Melvin's catalogue.
Once Melvin becomes a permanent resident, his stock expands. Each day that Melvin Furniture is open, it will stock one decorative item, two furniture items, one flooring style, one wallpaper style and one interior wall type. It is important to note that only one of each item can be purchased per day even in multiplayer (this excludes the interior walls).
Furniture owned at least once are registered and can be ordered through the catalogue by speaking to Melvin. A full list of the available furniture can be found at Furniture.
The Furniture Shop Deed is acquired by talking to Fletch "about the town" once Melvin is ready to move in.
Fletch will give the player the deed to decide where to place it. Construction will not start until all the required materials have been placed inside the deposit box on the build site.
There is a donation box in the Base Tent/Town Hall to pay off the Town Debt.
All debts need to be paid off in full before another deed can be applied for.
After construction commences it will take 2 nights to complete.

Moving a Building[]
To move a building, visit Fletch, select Lets talk about the town and I want to move a building.
- The deed list provided is for the buildings currently in the town. Select the one to relocate.
- Relocating a building will put the town 25,000 in debt.
- Place the deed down in the new location. (Note: The new building placement cannot occupy the same area as the current building so the player must move the building to a vacant spot large enough for it first, then move it again if they wanted to move a building 1 tile or so over.)
- The building will be moved over night.
- No additional materials are required.
- All the materials are here. Construction will start tomorrow.
- If a building is already being relocated, this needs to conclude before another building can be moved.
