Tent | House | Guest House | House Customisation Kit |
---|
The house is a player's home that has been upgraded from the Tent. To upgrade the tent, the player must talk to Fletch "about their house" after obtaining the Nails and Wooden Crate recipes, which are after the first few quests at the start of the game. After the house has been upgraded, it can be upgraded again right away for a larger interior. The fees to upgrade the house are not added to the Town Debt and must be paid in full right away. The player talks to Fletch about moving their house.
Usage[]
The player can decorate the interior and place any furniture, clothing, crafting station, or storage box inside with the exception of large objects such as the Windmill or Water Tank.
The house has two upgrades which will only make the interior larger. The exterior stays the same size at 5x5. The house can be moved by talking to Fletch about the player's house. When upgrading the house, there will be a green construction box outside the house where the player places construction materials similar to the NPC buildings. It is recommended to not move the house while it is under construction!
To move the house, the player must talk to Fletch about their house which she then warns the player that things inside the house may not be in the same position after the house is moved. It is recommended to remove everything from the house before moving it, especially if it's being rotated as items can become stuck outside the house in the black area making it almost impossible to enter the house or disappear into the void.
The house's exterior look can be customised by walking up near the door and using a House Customisation Kit purchased at John's Goods.
The house's interior can be customised by using Wallpapers and Floors purchased at Melvin Furniture.
Note: Items outside the house will not affect items inside the house, so the Windmill will not make machines inside the house work faster. Also, Wooden Signs can be placed, but items can not be imprinted onto them.
Mailbox[]
Once the player has reached a certain relationship level with an NPC, they will start to receive mail from the NPC in their Mailbox. The player can receive Dinks, food, clothing, or furniture.
Occasionally a letter will arrive from the Bug Tipster or the Fishin' Tipster that will inform the player about an undiscovered bug or fish, the biome, and time of day to find it. Note: There is a current bug where sometimes the Tipster will say "...in the unknown location".
Any animal traps and dinks from the Animal Research Centre, commissioned tools from Franklyn, clothes from Clover, and furniture from Melvin will be sent to the mailbox the next day after purchase. Purchasing multiples of the same item will result in multiple letters with one item per letter.

It is advisable to sleep elsewhere when house is being upgraded.

Moving a Building[]
To move a building, visit Fletch, select Lets talk about the town and I want to move a building.
- The deed list provided is for the buildings currently in the town. Select the one to relocate.
- Relocating a building will put the town 25,000 in debt.
- Place the deed down in the new location. (Note: The new building placement cannot occupy the same area as the current building so the player must move the building to a vacant spot large enough for it first, then move it again if they wanted to move a building 1 tile or so over.)
- The building will be moved over night.
- No additional materials are required.
- All the materials are here. Construction will start tomorrow.
- If a building is already being relocated, this needs to conclude before another building can be moved.
