Gemstones can be found in the Deep Mine, Undergrove and the Island Reef. Like ore, they are enclosed in mineable rocks. A small amount of sparkling gem will be visible on the rock before mining.
The gemstone is a large item which can be carried overhead or placed on some Vehicles to transport. It can travel through the Tele Tower or Tele Pad while carrying it.
- Break a gemstone to get 1 shard from each type - Aquamarine Shard, Emerald Shard, Ruby Shard
- Throw the gemstone into the Crusher at each mine level (see further details below).
- Use 4 Ruby Shards to gain access to the Undergrove level of the Mine.
- Use 4 Emerald Shards to gain access to the Hot Hot Hot level of the Mine.
- Use in crafting at the Crafting Table or commission advanced items at Franklyn's Lab.
- Display the gemstone as a decoration.
- Hold onto the gemstone for photo requests from the NPCs. Or take photos of it with a Camera/Camera Tripod before selling the gemstone to John.
- Take the gemstone to John's Goods to weigh it on the scale. John will offer a sale price based on the weight. Selling them to John helps to complete the Milestone Jewel Runner.
A Crusher has been added to each Mine level (Deep Mine, Undergrove and Hot Hot Hot) for crushing Gemstones and Raw Berkonium.
Breaking gemstones with weapons or tools now drops 1 shard (Ruby Shard, Emerald Shard, Aquamarine Shard), and for raw berkonium it is 0-1 chance for Berkonium Ore.
Using the crusher with gemstones may give 4 shards and a random chance of a perfect gem (Perfect Aquamarine, Perfect Emerald, Perfect Ruby). The raw berkonium may give 3 Berkonium Ore.
