The following is a list of fish in Dinkum. Fish are more common when it rains.

General Information

Use a fishing rod to catch fish that can be found throughout various water biomes such as the Ocean, Rivers, Billabong, and Mangroves.

A basic fishing rod is purchased from John's Goods after obtaining the Fishing Licence Level 1 from Fletch for 250 permit points.

Increase the fishing skill to be able to craft the new fishing rod for increased line durability. At fishing skill level 5, the fishing licence level 2 is available for purchase which unlocks the Copper Fishing Rod at the Crafting Table. The fishing licence level 3 is available at skill level 10 and unlocks the Iron Fishing Rod and Crab Pot.

Consume food and drink that have the fishing buff to increase reel in speed. This will help to catch fish more easily.

This skill is valuable as Fish can be

• Donated to the  Museum (one per species)
• Sold to John at  John's Goods
• Sold to  Ted Selly for 2 times the value
• Gifted to NPCs to fulfil certain daily requests
• Placed down in a fish tank for display
• Cooked on a campfire or BBQ. Depending on the type of fish, it will produce either Cooked Freshwater Fish, Cooked Saltwater Fish or Cooked Blob Fish. The amount of cooked items received will vary depending on the value of the fish.

Cooked Fish can be

• Sold in stacks of 50+ to Jimmy on  Jimmy's Boat for 1.5 times the value
• Sold to Sheila at the  Tuckerbox when it's the "food of the day" for 2.5 times the value

The Fish Book is a great tool for catching certain fish.

Fish can be placed on the ground. Put the fish in a slot on the toolbelt and left-click or "x" on Xbox controller to place down a fish inside a  Fish Tank or large fish tank.

The Museum Donations by Seasons page groups the Fish, Bugs and Critters for easy viewing.

The Museum Donation Chart is an easy to view chart to compare with the in-game Pedia. The Pedia is sorted by rarity first, then value.

Trivia

• Many fish only appear throughout a specific season, with only a few appearing year-round.
• The most valuable fish in Dinkum are the Yellowfin Tuna, Marlin, Deep Fish and Barracuda.
