Ferns are found in the Tropics, Undergrove and Island Reef. Cutting ferns may provide 
Fern Seeds or Tropical Grass Seeds. Ferns can naturally spawn on tropical grass blocks in any biome. The ferns on the Island Reef contain the grass seed heads with tropical grass seeds.
The player can grow a Fern by burying the Fern Seed similar to planting trees, in any biome in dirt or sand. It will grow to full height 2 days after being planted.
Use the Plant Book on the plant to show maturity. When fully grown the book will no longer show data.
The player can create new fern seeds by reproducing them when a fern seed is placed in Flower Beds or Flower Pots attached or next to one that is empty.
Bury a Fertilizer bag into the ground next to a fully grown fern, then sleep for the fern to change to a Fern Tree, similar to those in the Undergrove. Though when the tree fern is chopped down there is no drops, the fern seed is not returned. Added during Breezy Autumn Update.
