Deep Mine | Undergrove | Island Reef |
---|
You can now pick up and place the old broken fences found in the first layer of the mines.
The map is randomly generated each day. The drop off location is the same each time and corresponds to the deep mine location on the mainland. There is a dark fog covering the entire map/minimap which the player will have to reveal by walking around. The elevator icon will show up on the map which the player can tag for easier navigation back. The walls in the Deep Mine can be destroyed with a pickaxe or jackhammer so players don't have to walk around them. There are pools of water that can be anywhere from 1 to 2 tiles deep. The player can drive a motorcycle through the water without worry of destroying the vehicle. The entire map is surrounded by a wall of rock that the player is able to destroy once, but will not disappear and stay impassable.
The Undergrove[]
The Undergrove is considered its own biome where the player can find specific animals, bugs, and resources that are sometimes not found elsewhere.
⚠️!!!Warning!!!: At 11pm the mines will shake with a rumbling noise indicating that it is getting late in the game. At 12am, or Late, the mine will rumble again and emit radiation throughout the entire map constantly dealing 1 damage per 2 seconds to the player, but will not harm the animals. The effect is similar to that of a Glowing Croco's AoE radiation attack.
Lighting is a must as the mine is very dark with the exception of the light around the elevator, glowing mushrooms, glowing crocos, Treasure Rooms, and random paths with lamps. The player should bring either Wooden Torches, a Torch, a Miner's Helmet, or a Candle Hat to help light the way. Holding a glowing mushroom will also provide a very small amount of light around the player.
Animals that spawn inside the Deep Mine are all aggressive and will attack the player, and sometimes each other. Animals that spawn inside the Deep Mine are:
- Cave Bats - very numerous and only attack the player
- Bush Devils - same as the ones on the surface, except they never sleep
- Glowing Crocos - glowing crocodiles that will sometimes emit a poisonous AoE cloud around themselves
Bugs & Fish that can be found:
- Glow Bug - caught with a Bug Net
- Deep Fish - caught with a Fishing Rod
Bat Shrine is a mysterious statue that can spawn more than once in a random location within the Deep Mine. If the player feeds it 20 bat wings they will be gifted a Bat Glider.

Treasure Room[]
Each Treasure Room requires two Old Keys to unlock the gates. They will show up as round, grey structures on the mini map when the player is close to one. The walls cannot be destroyed by the player, but sometimes the elevator can land on a room and destroy the walls giving the player easy access to the chest.
Chest Loot[]
The brown wooden chests can be found in the Deep Mine and Island Reef.
Each chest contains 5-7 items with 1 paint guaranteed. Gold and Chrome paint are exclusive from Jimmy.
The chest can be picked up after emptying the items from inside it or use a Hand Trolley to move/relocate the chest.

Tips[]
The Deep Mine can be quite hazardous with the numerous aggressive animals. It is recommended to bring health and stamina recovery items that also give good combat or mining buffs. Use food that provide an increase to Max Health and Max Stamina as it will help with survivability.
- Meat on a stick is a good beginner food item by providing 35 health recovery and is easy to make early on.
- Cooked Bananas or Fruit Salad are both great for stamina recovery.
- Wattle Brew is a must-have item to bring for both stamina recovery, max stamina, and mining buff.
The player should bring some copper weapons and tools to bring along if they don't have access to iron ones. Weapon of choice is up to personal preference of course, but bring a few as there are a lot of animals to fight. The player can also find weapons inside the Treasure Rooms, but will come with reduced durability.
The player can use the torch purchased from John's Goods and to stun the animals thus making it easier to fight bats as they can be difficult to hit.
The player can bring a vehicle such as a motorcycle and drive it around the deep mine. Animals will not aggro the player while on the vehicle and it can be loaded up with rubies, fossils, and trapped animals for transport back to the elevator. It is also a good idea to mark the map where rubies are so that the player can drive by and place them on the vehicle for transport before leaving.
Time flows normally as it does on the surface and the player can stay past Late night, but their Max Stamina bar will still be reduced thus being a bit more dangerous down there at that time.
